Material and Size Compatibility

The Slab Palletizer is designed for flat and relatively heavy materials commonly found in stone processing plants. It can handle granite, marble, quartz stone, artificial stone, and cement bricks, making it suitable for different finishing and building-material production lines. The loading range covers materials from 600 × 300 mm up to 2200 × 1200 mm, while the 500 kg maximum loading capacity provides additional flexibility for heavier workpieces.

According to the slab dimensions and production requirements, the handling sequence can include gripping, lifting, horizontal movement, positioning, rotation, alignment, and layer-by-layer stacking. This allows one machine to accommodate different material sizes without relying on repeated manual repositioning.

Slab Palletizer

Heavy Slab Handling Capacity

Stone slabs are significantly heavier and more difficult to handle manually than many conventional sheet materials. The machine is therefore built around a 500 kg maximum loading capacity and a rigid mechanical structure. Its 1450 mm maximum lifting stroke and 2000 mm maximum travel allow the handling unit to move materials between the incoming production line and the designated palletizing position.

The servo-driven movement provides controlled acceleration and deceleration during lifting and travel. This is particularly important when handling large slabs because uncontrolled movement can cause the material to swing, collide with adjacent pieces, or become misaligned during stacking.

Stacking Layout Control

Layer-by-Layer Placement

The system can complete positioning and orderly stacking according to the preset production requirements. Operators can configure the stacking method, layer quantity, and material spacing according to the slab specifications and pallet arrangement. This helps maintain consistent stack alignment throughout repeated production cycles.

Accurate Material Positioning

Detection sensors assist the control system in identifying incoming slab positions before handling. The servo drive then controls the movement of the handling mechanism to place each piece at the required position. For factories processing different slab formats, this controlled positioning can help reduce manual correction work after palletizing.

Slab Palletizer

Protection Against Stone Dust

Stone processing produces a large amount of dust, chips, and debris that can affect exposed transmission components. The main guide rail is therefore protected by an enclosed dust cover, helping prevent abrasive particles from entering the rail and slider system.

The machine also uses an automatic oil lubrication system to maintain the transmission components at preset intervals. This reduces the frequency of manual lubrication and helps maintain smooth movement during continuous production. For factories working with stone, artificial stone, and cement bricks, these protection measures are particularly useful in dusty and humid workshops.

Slab Palletizer

Frame and Maintenance Access

The machine frame uses a heavy-duty welded structure designed to withstand repeated handling of high-weight materials. The rigid construction helps maintain mechanical stability during lifting, travelling, and stacking operations.

Key components are arranged to make routine inspection, lubrication, and replacement of wear parts more accessible. Combined with the protected guide rail and automatic lubrication system, this design can help reduce unnecessary maintenance interruptions and keep the production line running more consistently.

Manual Handling vs. Automated Stacking

Item Manual Handling Automated Palletizing
Heavy Slab Handling Requires multiple operators Machine-assisted handling up to 500 kg
Stack Alignment Depends on operator positioning Controlled positioning and preset stacking
Production Rhythm Can vary with operator availability Consistent automated cycle
Material Damage Risk Higher risk of collision and scratches Controlled movement reduces unnecessary impact
Labor Requirement More workers required at the line end Reduced manual handling demand
Production Integration Requires manual transfer between processes Can synchronize with automated equipment

End-of-Line Production Use

The Slab Palletizer is mainly installed at the end of stone processing lines where finished slabs need to be transferred from processing equipment to pallets. It can be connected with cutting machines, edge grinding machines, chamfering machines, drying equipment, conveyors, and packaging systems.

For factories upgrading from manual palletizing, the equipment can be incorporated into an existing production line according to the available floor space, material flow, pallet position, and upstream machine layout. This makes it suitable for both new automated lines and production-line automation upgrades.

Equipment Connection

Upstream Equipment

The machine can receive materials from stone cutting machines, edge grinding machines, chamfering equipment, drying systems, and conveyors. Signal communication and cycle coordination allow the palletizing process to follow the production rhythm of the previous process.

Downstream Equipment

After stacking, the pallets can continue to packaging, conveying, storage, or other handling processes. The connection position and operating parameters can be adjusted according to the customer's production layout.

Reduced Labor and Material Loss

Automating the final handling stage reduces the number of workers required to repeatedly lift, move, align, and stack heavy slabs. For manufacturers operating multiple shifts, this can reduce dependence on manual labor and create a more consistent end-of-line workflow.

The controlled gripping and positioning process also helps reduce common handling problems such as edge impact, surface scratches, and misalignment. By reducing unnecessary manual contact with finished materials, the Slab Palletizer can support a higher finished-product qualification rate and reduce material waste caused by handling damage.

Stone Processing Applications

This equipment is suitable for automated stacking applications involving granite, marble, quartz stone, artificial stone, cement bricks, and other flat heavy workpieces. It can be configured for different material dimensions and pallet arrangements according to the requirements of the production line.
